ReMeDiEs....

Excuse me for my blogging rant... as you can tell I am very bored at work! As most of you know, that read this blog, my beautiful older sees is prego! She has been having some rough times with morning sickness... so I have done some research, I couldn't tell you if these remedies work.. but its worth a shot! I love you sees... you're amazing keep up the good work! I cant wait for the cute little babe (which I believe is a girl) to come to this earth... You will be the most amazing Mother!

Morning Sickness Remedies

*Eat Small Frequent Meals
Forget about eating just 3 meals a day. Your nausea will get worse as your stomach has no food left to digest. To prevent this, eat at least 6 small meals a day rather than 3 large ones. Your stomach will never be too full or too empty, which will help you feel better.

*Keep Crackers Handy
Stash some crackers on your night table and nibble on them before you get up in the morning. Morning sickness is usually worse in the morning. Eating a few crackers before you get up will give you at least some relief. It is also a good idea to keep a pack of crackers in your purse, your desk and even in the car for those sudden spurs of nausea.

*Ginger
Ginger has long been known to help with any type of upset stomach. Sip on ginger ale, eat a few ginger snap cookies or munch on some candied ginger when you start feeling sick.

*Peppermint Tea
Peppermint is another great home remedy for nausea and safe to consume during pregnancy. Many women find a hot cup of peppermint tea particularly helpful. You could also give peppermint candy and peppermint gum a try for those times when you are out in public and need a discreet morning sickness remedy.

*Take Your Prenatal Vitamin at Night
One of the reasons morning sickness is worse in the morning is because health care professionals suggest taking prenatal vitamins when you first get up. If you are having a hard time with nausea and are getting rid of your vitamin shortly after you take it, try something different. Take your prenatal vitamin at night, right before you go to bed. Eat a small protein-rich snack like crackers and cheese or even a bowl of cereal with the prenatal vitamin. The food will keep you from getting sick quickly. When and if the nausea sets in, you’ll be sound asleep.

*Vitamin B6 - 50 mg. daily. Vitamin B6 has been scientifically shown to help morning sickness. You can find Vitamin B6 at your local drugstore or health food store. Just recently, companies have started to incorporate therapeutic doses of Vitamin B6 into their products to help you cure your morning sickness. One is B-Natal TheraPops are cherry flavored lollipops which have been shown to help cure morning sickness for many women. Another Vitamin B-6 enriched product is called Morning Sickness Magic. Morning Sickness Magic is a herbal remedy containing Ginger, Vitamin B-6, Red Raspberry Leaf and Folic Acid.

*Avoid warm places as heat can increase the nausea feelings.

*Take naps during the day (but not right after eating). Tiredness plays a big part in morning sickness.

*Get enough sleep at night.

*Get out of bed slowly in the morning.

*Eat what you want when you want it. Your cravings will not lead you the wrong way.

*Do not drink fluids with your meals. ( I thought this was interesting)

*Drink small amounts of fluids regularly though out the day to avoid dehydration.

* And if all else fails... I hear TUMS works great for the heartburn :)

Love you sees! I hope you feel better soon!

Sincerely,
Soon to be... the favorite Aunt! :)

You're the best sister ever!

So you know I definetly already do a couple of those things...

I sure do take my time getting out of bed in the mornings, and I probably eat ten small meals instead of six... but hey, whatever works right??

I did learn alot of interesting information from your blog, especially the part about not drinking fluids with your meals.... Interesting... :)

Thanks again for the post... I am sure you will be the fav aunt!! Get working on getting that custom made bib for the babe! :)

paigee, this is some good stuff, but having been there not too long ago.... the real remedy for nasea is at least one daily massage given by the babe's daddy. he he. oh- and new maternity close. that is sure to work, take my expertise on this one. love you! now you can do research on where to buy the cutest and least expensive 'growing mommy' clothes. he he. good luck with that.
